Sports play a vital role in our students' education at HKUST, contributing significantly to effective learning and holistic development. All new undergraduate students are required to take a sports skills class during their first year under the Behavioral Foundations of University Education: Habits, Mindsets, and Wellness (HMAW1905).
Sports also foster a sense of belonging, dedication, and enjoyment among students. Currently, there are over 30 sports clubs that organize various activities to help students improve their skills, practice sportsmanship, and develop perseverance and teamwork. Additionally, more than 50 HKUST sports teams participate enthusiastically in intercollegiate, local, and international
